[ad_1]

Welcome back to The Week in Weed, your Friday appear at what’s taking place in the planet of legalized marijuana.

The major news this week comes from the USDA.  The agency officially proposed guidelines for the market, which are readily available right here.  For our take on these guidelines, see Tonya and Renee’s post from Tuesday.  Not absolutely everyone is in really like with the guidelines.  As of this writing, more than four,000 individuals have signed a adjust.org petition to revise them.  Note: in order to comment officially on a proposed rule, please proceed to regulations.gov.

On the campaign trail, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) released a strategy to legalize recreational marijuana and expunge previous convictions.  For earlier coverage of his views, see our post right here.  The Presidential candidates have distinct views on cannabis, but they center about how to legalize or decriminalize, not if that must come about.

Academia continues to be a marijuana hotspot.  Students in states exactly where healthcare cannabis is legal are suing their colleges for taking disciplinary action against them for employing it.

So what’s taking place on the state level?  Michigan is now (as of these days) accepting applications for adult-use marijuana enterprise licenses.  In Utah, meanwhile, organizations can now apply for licenses to run healthcare marijuana dispensaries, which the state calls pharmacies.  No, I do not know why.

Shifting our gaze to our neighbor to the South, Mexico has had some challenges in its journey to legalization.  It appeared that the Senate would vote on a legalization proposal this week, but the legislation has now been referred to a different panel for assessment.

And lastly, Molson Coors will quickly be promoting CBD-infused beverages in Canada.  They’ll be named Flow Glow and function two flavors: Goji + Grapefruit and Raspberry + Lemon.

See you subsequent week!
